NOTE ON SCREENING CAMPS CONDUCTED FOR SCREENING CHILDREN BELOW 12 YEARS SUFFERING FROM HEART DISEASES

  •  
 Total 954 Children were screened in various Govt.Hospitals and Private Hospitals and 419 Children are admitted in Private Hospitals in Hyderabad city on 17.08.2004 and 8th August, 2004.
  •  
Out of 419 Children admitted in Private Hospitals, 108 cases      have been operated and 211 patients are under going various evaluation tests.
  •  
Presently patients are in 15 hospitals of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
  •  
Screening camps are conducted in 19 Districts on 11.08.2004 (1), 14.08.2004 (11), 16.08.2004 (1), 22.08.2004 (6) & 23.08.2004 (1).
  •  
Camps are conducted in District Head Quarters and Patients are screened by Medical teams from Teaching Hospitals.
  •  
During the camps 6,487 Children are screened and 5,309 are identified with Cardiac disorders.
  •  
In Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, West Godavari and Khammam Districts, due to intensive pulse polio immunization programmes, the camps will be conducted on 28.08.2004
  •

§       Regional cells are constituted in 10 Teaching Hospitals.  Regional cell consists of the superintendent Teaching Hospital, cardialogist and Cardio Thoracic Surgeon.

§       Regional cells are screening the cardiac patients (Paediatric) and the information on intensity of disease is being sent to central cell located in Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad.    Consisting of Superintendent, Cardiaothoracue surgeon and Cardiologist.
